About Joe Marcy

A proud Manhattan Beach native, I have dedicated my career and volunteer service to strengthening our community and creating opportunities for others.

My public service includes serving as Chair of the Manhattan Beach Parking and Public Improvements Commission (PPIC), where I helped review infrastructure, traffic, and public safety improvements, as well as Chair of the Cultural Arts Commission.

I am also a longtime community volunteer and former President of the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair Association. As a member of the Fair Board for more than 14 years, I have helped support one of our city’s most cherished traditions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our team raised funds and distributed more than 30 grants and scholarships to local booster clubs and nonprofit organizations.

I currently serve on the Board of Directors for Mychal’s Learning Place, a nonprofit that empowers youth and young adults with developmental disabilities through education, training, and opportunities that promote independence and personal growth.

Professionally, I serve as Director of Business Development for See Monterey, where I help advance tourism, sustainability, and diversity initiatives. I hold the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Certified Incentive Travel Professional (CITP), and Certified Meeting Management (CMM) designations and was recognized in Collaborate Magazine’s “40 Under 40.”

Whether through public service, nonprofit leadership, or professional work, I am committed to building a stronger, more connected community and helping Manhattan Beach continue to thrive.
